As we are asked not to make any unecessary trips away from home currently, it is h oped in many quarters that this will stop the devestating amount of fly tipping that has bighted our countryside. We’re all hoping that the restrictions stretch to these vile misscreants. Householders should be vigilant if they hire a ‘man & van’ to clear domestic rubbish instead of doing the proper thing and hiring a legitimate skip. These are dropped on the driveway or outside the house and are excellent for the family to tip in all excess good and rubble if they’re remodelling the house for example. However there are some precautions. Not leaving the skip open at night – otherwise it will fill up instantly with neighbouring rubbish, at your expense. Some things cannot skipped. Dangerous goods, asbestos, unmarked glass etc. However, once the skip is filled with admissable items, it is transported away and the contents legally disposed of within the fee. Anything tipped in it that breach the rules will be the hirers responsibility and meet the full force of the law.
